There was plenty of boogie-time action at Public Assembly's underground back-room in November. As always we thank the Play It Loud faithful for wearing out the dance floor and working out those sore, calloused feet!

Two-thirds of the Play It Loud trio brought their New York Downtown-Disco flair to the decadent, beach-dwelling, under dressed masses in Miami on Halloween night!

PIL's very own Doug Gomez of Drrtyhaze and Henry Maldonado (aka Son Of Sound) delivered a soundtrack of late 70s Disco, early 80s Boogie Funk, Italo-disco gems, and New York Fun House classics.

The musical bed created a comfy place to lay the 1970s porn-themed Halloween bash "The Other Hollywood", located at The Aware House; downtown Miami's live music venue / artist gallery / nightclub.

We commemorated the spirit and legacy of Arthur Russell with tons of energy!

Arthur's Landing jammed out to Loose Joints classics, Nomi added her vocal flair to "Is It All Over My Face", and after the audience thought it couldn't get any better - Doug Gomez, Darshan Jesrani and Son of Sound doused the masses with their selection of Disco, Boogie and everything in between!

On Saturday September 12th Play It Loud celebrated the Drrtyhaze release - New York City Jacks / Make My Body Hot on REDUX.

PIL residents Doug Gomez (Drrtyhaze), and Henry Maldonado (Son of Sound / Tirk) took control of the decks with a night of classic House, seminal Techno and Disco.

Their Play It Loud partner Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area) rejoins the crew on Saturday October 10th for a very special celebration of the music and legacy of the late

SO SORRY for getting this one to you so late but there were some technical issues with the recording this time around. A little mastering magic was applied and we managed to salvage one of the best PIL sets yet!

Excuse the low fidelity but if you close your eyes and use your imagination, it almost sounds like a lost cassette recording at your favorite underground nightclub circa 1982 (insert Music Box, Better Days or Paradise Garage here).

The Play It Loud! discoteers braved the rain and some traveled as far as Connecticut to partake in another installment of our monthly tribute to the underground that once was.
